Hans Per Jeppesen's lamp design has its roots in Scandinavian Modernism, and is distinguished by its timeless and classic profile, with clean lines and simple, rustic form. The design was launched in 1964, with the presentation of the Sonet and Calmo lamps.

HPJ Design is deeply rooted in the metalcraft that Hans Per Jeppesen mastered to perfection. An uncompromising approach to everything from concept to materials and execution. Even more, there was an exquisite sense of form, a eye for details, and finesse in the finished work; a set of values that was essential to Hans Per Jeppesen's design, which combines craftsmanship, quality, and design at the highest level.

#Lamperne

Sonet

Sonet is made of solid brass or steel, with wall mounts in matte anthracite grey. The lamp has a white coating inside, for optimal reflection of light. The lamp is adjustable and can be turned in all directions around a horizontal axis.

Altro

Altro is a new release of Hans Per Jeppesen's lamp design. The pendulum is designed in a simple form, which is common for the entire lamp series. Altro has a shade of solid brass, with side brackets in matte anthracite grey. The mount, in brass wire, reinforces the cable leads. White coating inside.

Calmo

Calmo is made of solid steel, mounted on a wall bracket in light anthracite grey, and with a white coating inside. The wiring is integrated into the design along the side of the lamp. The lamp can be tilted and adjusted in a horizontal position.

Hans Per Jeppesen

1938 — 2000

Hans Per Jeppesen grew up during World War II. His childhood home had solid roots in the Danish craftsman tradition, with focus on esthetics and quality – a starting point that HPJ took with him, and which can clearly be seen in his work.

HPJ was educated as a toolmaker in 1958, recieved the highest distinction for his apprenticeship, and was awarded Silver Medal from the Association of Craftsmen in Copenhagen.

Hans Per Jeppesen's lamp design took form in the early 1960's. The wall lamp, Sonet, was produced by the lamp-makers, Fog & Mørup, in 1964, followed a couple of years later by the lamp, Calmo. The lamps were in production until the mid 70's.

About Us

Our father, designer Hans Per Jeppesen, was a creative enthusiast, who has, throughout his life, created and formed numerous lighting and interior designs. Work in form, that was ahead of its time, and which, for the most part, remains unreleased.

We've followed the interest, for our father's limited and exclusive lamp series, on both Danish and foreign auctions, and have noticed a still increasing demand for his design.

It is therefore our pleasure, as the children of Hans Per Jeppesen, to present a selection of his work, which we hope will help create further interest in his designs.
